Hyderabad: Speculations about the expansion of the state Cabinet have resurfaced as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy plans to leave for Delhi on Monday.
Party sources suggest that the long-pending Cabinet reorganization will be finalized before the winter session of the Assembly, which is set to begin on December 9. Currently, the Cabinet consists of 12 ministers, including the Chief Minister, leaving six positions vacant. Revanth aims to complete the process by December 7.
During his visit to Delhi, the Chief Minister is expected to meet with senior party leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. This meeting is considered significant as Revanth will discuss key matters, including the political climate in Telangana and the government’s handling of issues such as land acquisition for the proposed pharma city, now termed an industrial corridor.
In addition, the Chief Minister will provide a report on the welfare schemes implemented by the government and their impact. This update aims to inform the party leadership about the government’s efforts and strategies to counter the Opposition’s criticism.
Revanth’s visit also includes extending invitations to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge for the inauguration of the Telangana Thalli statue at the Secretariat complex on December 9. This event holds special significance as it coincides with Sonia Gandhi’s birthday.
To mark the occasion, the government plans to invite around one lakh women from across Telangana to attend the event. The Chief Minister intends to make this celebration a major political and cultural event in the state.
