Revanth Reddy Criticizes Kishan Reddy, Praises PM Modi
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has taken a new approach in his political statements. He criticized the state BJP while appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union government.
Speaking at a public meeting in Wanaparthy, Revanth Reddy said that during his visits to Delhi, he noticed that PM Modi was considerate of Telangana’s needs and willing to help. However, he accused Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and others of creating obstacles for the state.
The Chief Minister recalled the difficulties he faced in getting approvals for the Warangal airport project. Now that the project is moving forward, he claimed that Kishan Reddy was trying to take credit for it. “He takes credit for positive developments without putting in any effort. But for pending issues, he blames me,” said Revanth Reddy.
He further accused Kishan Reddy of delaying approvals for important projects. These include the expansion of Metro Rail, funding for the Musi Rejuvenation Project, clearances for the Regional Ring Road, and water allocations for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and Kaleshwaram project.
Revanth Reddy also compared Kishan Reddy’s performance with other Union ministers. He pointed out that Nirmala Sitharaman helped expand Metro services in Tamil Nadu, while Shobha Karandlaje did the same in Bengaluru. “The question is, why did Kishan Reddy fail?” he asked.
The Chief Minister criticized both Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, another Union minister, for their lack of contribution to Telangana’s development over the past 12 years.
Referring to the recent SLBC accident, Revanth Reddy accused former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of neglecting the issue for a decade. He also questioned KCR’s silence when Andhra Pradesh lifted water for the Rayalaseema region. He alleged that if key irrigation projects had been completed, people from Palamuru wouldn’t have had to migrate for work. He also claimed that projects like Palamuru Bima, Kalwakurthi, and Nettampadu remained incomplete under KCR’s leadership. Instead of addressing these issues, KCR invited Jagan Mohan Reddy to Pragati Bhavan and promised to transform Rayalaseema into ‘Ratanala Seema,’ he said.
Revanth Reddy also criticized the previous government for weakening women’s self-help groups (SHGs) by not providing zero-interest and low-interest loans. “We are working to uplift 65 lakh women’s self-help groups and make them millionaires. However, both BRS and BJP are trying to obstruct our efforts,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted new government initiatives to empower women. He mentioned that SHGs are being encouraged to generate solar power and compete with big companies like Adani and Ambani. He also pointed out that women’s groups have purchased 1,000 buses and leased them to TSRTC. Additionally, they have been given contracts to stitch school uniforms and the responsibility of running government schools.
