    Hyderabad: Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narsimha announced on Friday that the new Osmania Hospital will be equipped with all necessary facilities to ensure patients do not have to be referred elsewhere. He also assured that the government would take measures to ensure the local residents near Goshamahal face no inconvenience during the hospital’s construction and operation.

    The Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, and the Health Minister laid the foundation stone for the new Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal on Friday. Speaking to the media, Raja Narsimha stated that the hospital will be built at a cost of ₹2,700 crore with cutting-edge technology and international standards. The facility is expected to be completed and ready for use within two and a half to three years.

    The hospital will be constructed on a vast 26 acres and 30 guntas of land, with a built-up area of 32 lakh square feet. While the current Osmania Hospital has 1,168 beds, the new facility will offer 2,000 beds, including a 500-bed ICU. Additionally, the number of departments will increase from 22 to 30, ensuring more comprehensive medical care.

    To minimize inconvenience for locals, the government plans to develop wide roads around the hospital and construct an underground parking system capable of accommodating approximately 3,000 vehicles. A skywalk will also be built to improve connectivity and accessibility for patients and visitors.

    The Minister further assured that essential facilities, such as a fire station, an electricity substation, and a police outpost, will be established within the hospital premises to enhance safety and convenience. The government remains committed to addressing the needs of the people in the Goshamahal area while delivering a world-class healthcare facility.
