Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) for neglecting the education system during his tenure in Telangana.
Revanth Reddy accused KCR of focusing on building offices for the BRS party in all 33 districts, while no new educational institutions were established during his regime. He blamed KCR for the closure of 5,000 government schools over the past ten years.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony for the Young India Integrated Residential School in the Kondurg area of Shadnagar Assembly constituency, Revanth Reddy pointed out that KCR’s government spent Rs 22 lakh crore and borrowed an additional Rs 7 lakh crore. Despite this, they didn’t invest even Rs 10,000 crore to improve government school infrastructure. He stated that the closure of schools was a deliberate effort to deny education to the poor. His government, he added, is now building Young India Integrated Residential Schools to ensure education for the underprivileged.
The Chief Minister also criticized KCR for giving important posts to his family members while encouraging other communities to continue with their traditional jobs, like goat and sheep herding.
Revanth Reddy condemned KCR’s family for failing to provide education and healthcare for the poor, accusing them of trying to rule the state like a kingdom. He questioned why only poor children should work as shepherds while KCR’s family controls the state.
Revanth Reddy further claimed that his government had handed out 30,000 job appointment letters within 90 days of coming to power. Additionally, 11,000 newly recruited teachers were also given job letters.
He expressed hope that the Young India Integrated Residential Schools would offer a brighter future for students in the state, reaffirming his commitment to providing quality education and healthcare for the poor and addressing unemployment in Telangana.
