Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of the Musi project and accused BRS leaders of protecting their illegal constructions in water bodies under the pretense of helping the people. He questioned the seriousness of the Opposition in resolving the issue and stated that the State government was open to suggestions.

While launching the pilot project of Family Digital Cards in Secunderabad, the CM challenged BRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao. He asked if they would contribute funds from their party’s account to help the poor people living around the Musi river. “Your party account has Rs 1500 crore. Will you contribute Rs 500 crore as an alternative solution?” he questioned.

In response to Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender’s comments on the Musi project, Revanth Reddy suggested that Rajender, as a BJP leader, should raise the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also proposed that if Rajender is willing, the State cabinet is ready to meet with the Prime Minister to request Rs 25,000 crore as part of the solution. Additionally, Reddy suggested providing housing to those affected under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The Chief Minister further emphasized that the Opposition should offer suggestions. He invited leaders from BRS and BJP to the Secretariat for discussions and stated that the Congress was open to holding an all-party meeting to address the issue.
