Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of the Musi River project and accused BRS leaders of trying to protect their illegal constructions in water bodies. He claimed that these leaders were pretending to support the people but were actually safeguarding their own interests. Reddy also questioned how serious the Opposition was about solving the problem and said that the State government was open to suggestions.

While launching the pilot project of the Family Digital Cards in Secunderabad, CM Revanth Reddy challenged BRS leaders, K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, to help the poor people living near the Musi River. He specifically asked if they would contribute Rs 500 crore from their party’s Rs 1,500 crore fund to find a solution for the affected residents.

In response to Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender’s statements about the Musi project, CM Reddy urged him, as a key BJP leader, to bring the issue to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He suggested that if Rajender was willing, the State cabinet would meet with the PM to request Rs 25,000 crore to solve the problem. He proposed using this money to provide housing for the affected people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Revanth Reddy also emphasized that the Opposition should give their suggestions to help solve the issue. He invited leaders from both the BRS and BJP to the Secretariat for discussions. Additionally, he mentioned that the Congress party was open to organizing an all-party meeting to address the matter.
