Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently visited the famous Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada, also known as the “Southern Kashi.” During his visit, the Chief Minister offered special prayers and participated in rituals. He was welcomed by the temple priests with a traditional Poorna Kumbham ceremony.
Before getting the darshan (viewing of the deity), the Chief Minister performed two important ceremonies. He took part in the Shankhsthapana (consecration of a conch) and Bhoomi Pooja (groundbreaking ceremony) for the temple’s expansion project. This project will receive an investment of 76 crores. The CM also gave instructions to the officials on how to move forward with the temple’s development plans. As a sign of respect, he offered Koda Mokkul (a traditional offering of mangoes) at the temple’s flagpole.
During the visit, several special rituals were carried out. The Chief Minister participated in Archana (worship) at the Sri Lakshmi Ganapati Swamy shrine and the Rajarajeswari Amma temple. He also attended the Abhishekam (holy bathing) ceremony for Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy. After the prayers, the temple priests blessed the Chief Minister and other ministers with Veda Ashirvachanam (Vedic blessings).
Many important political leaders joined the Chief Minister on the visit. Among them were Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Damodara Rajanarsimha, Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas, and several MLCs, along with leaders from the United Karimnagar District.
The expansion of the Vemulawada temple complex is expected to boost the cultural and religious prominence of the region. This development will further establish the temple as a key pilgrimage destination in the area.
