The Jagathi Foundation, based in Hyderabad, has launched a project called ‘Amrut Aahar’ to provide breakfast to students in government schools. The foundation aims to ensure that young people, who often skip breakfast due to reasons such as being late for school or laziness, receive a nutritious meal at the right time to promote a healthy lifestyle. The foundation also runs educational programmes in slum areas and provides academic assistance to students who lack access to quality education. Founder Durga Kalyani stated that the initiative was introduced in 2022 and started with providing breakfast in three government schools. The breakfast menu includes Raagi Malt, Idly and Vada. The foundation plans to extend the initiative to ten more government schools from the next academic year. Additionally, the foundation provides free tuition to underprivileged students, particularly those living in the Chandanagar slum.
