Hyderabad: The Raidurgam Times Square, a new project in the city, is being developed to be similar to the famous New York Times Square. It will be a lively area with an amphitheatre and open restaurants, operating 24/7.
On Thursday, Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu reviewed the designs for this upcoming landmark. The meeting, held at the Secretariat, involved multiple firms presenting their design ideas for the project. These presentations followed a tender announcement that had already been issued.
Minister Sridhar Babu stressed that the new Times Square (T Square) should be designed in a way that constantly attracts visitors, just like New York’s Times Square. He suggested the area should feature large electronic displays and colorful digital advertisements to create a vibrant atmosphere. He also mentioned the importance of including elements of business, entertainment, and tourism to make the area exciting for everyone.
To make the space even more appealing, the Minister proposed holding cultural performances and live musical events. He also recommended building amphitheatres and open restaurants that would operate round the clock, catering to both tourists and locals. Additionally, he suggested the inclusion of themed shopping malls to further enhance the attraction of the destination.
The meeting was attended by Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Managing Director of TGISC, and Chief Engineer K. Shyam Sundar, along with other officials.
