The Hyderabad city police conducted the 18th phase of a public auction for 1,640 seized and abandoned vehicles. The auction took place at Goshamahal police grounds over two days. The Chairman of Hyderabad CAR HQRS, V Satyanarayana, addressed the bidders, who were mostly from the automobile field, and asked them to bid fairly.
The event was attended by over 650 bidders from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A total of 1,640 vehicles were auctioned, with 1,522 being sold in scrap condition for Rs 1,08,35,000. Out of these, there were 1,494 two-wheelers, 18 three-wheelers, and 10 four-wheelers. Additionally, 129 vehicles were deemed roadworthy, with 117 being two-wheelers and 1 being a three-wheeler. These vehicles were sold for Rs 22,34,000. However, 11 vehicles were rejected as no bidder reached the minimum value set by RT authorities.
In total, the auction generated Rs 1,30,69,000 in revenue from the sale of the 1,640 vehicles.
