The Progressive Biochar Society, along with Rainbow Bamboo Academy and ni-MSME, organized a national seminar on biochar manufacturing equipment and carbon credits in Hyderabad. The event took place at ni-MSME Hyderabad and attracted more than 110 biochar enthusiasts from all over India, including farmers from nearby states. Nuziveedu Seeds Limited sponsored the one-day seminar as part of their CSR initiatives, bringing together experts, industry leaders, and agricultural innovators to discuss the benefits of biochar in fighting climate change and improving soil fertility.
Dr P Chandra Shekara, director general of MANAGE, Hyderabad, was the chief guest at the seminar. Dr L Venkat Ram Reddy, former commissioner of Horticulture, Telangana, also participated in the event and shared insights on how biochar can be integrated into horticultural practices. Dr S Glory Swarupa, director general of ni-MSME, Hyderabad, attended as the guest of honour.
Overall, the seminar aimed to educate attendees about the potential of biochar and its role in sustainable agriculture. The speakers highlighted the importance of biochar in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing soil health. Discussions focused on practical ways to manufacture biochar equipment and utilize carbon credits. Farmers and agricultural experts gained valuable knowledge on how to incorporate biochar into their farming practices for long-term environmental benefits.
