The State government in Hyderabad is preparing for heavy rains predicted by the IMD in the upcoming monsoon season. The City Police and civic authorities have developed an action plan to enhance disaster management.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with his cabinet colleagues, visited the Command Control Center to review safety arrangements for the rainy season. The CM directed officials to establish a mechanism for emergency response and integrate disaster management by utilizing the Outer Ring Road and connecting all CCTV cameras within it to the Command Control.
Officials informed the CM that 141 flood-prone areas have been identified. Special measures, such as setting up water harvesters to ensure smooth flow of flood water and preventing water logging on roads, are being implemented.
Revanth Reddy instructed police officials to address traffic issues through physical policing and provide traffic alerts to residents via FM radio. The recruitment of Home Guards to alleviate traffic problems is also being considered.
