Cinematica Expo Set to Return with Its Third Edition
The much-anticipated Cinematica Expo is gearing up for its third edition after the resounding success of its previous events. This year, the expo promises an even larger showcase of cutting-edge technology and cinematic innovation. The event, spearheaded by renowned cinematographer and director P.G. Vinda, aims to establish Hyderabad as a global hub for filmmaking and digital creativity.
P.G. Vinda’s Vision for Cinematica Expo
P.G. Vinda, who made his mark in the film industry with the award-winning Grahanam in 2004, has become one of India’s leading cinematographers. Known for his passion for innovation, Vinda created Cinematica Expo to bring advanced filmmaking technologies to India. His vision is to empower filmmakers with the tools needed to thrive in an ever-evolving industry.
Reflecting on his career, Vinda shared, “Grahanam was one of the first films in India to be shot digitally, at a time when digital filmmaking wasn’t widely accepted. I predicted that digital technology would become mainstream within five to ten years, and I’m proud that my prediction came true.” His early adoption of digital technology laid the foundation for his efforts to modernize the Indian film industry.
Bridging the Technological Gap
Through Cinematica Expo, Vinda aims to address the delays in technology adoption faced by Indian filmmakers. “Advanced equipment like cameras and cranes often arrive late in our industry,” he explained. “We created Cinematica Expo to ensure filmmakers have access to the latest equipment and can stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.”
The expo has grown significantly since its inception. The first edition received widespread support, while the second edition set a record in Asia, drawing an impressive 38,000 attendees. Encouraged by this success, Vinda plans to make the third edition even more impactful. “Many international organizations have agreed to participate, and we are planning a grander scale to ensure Cinematica Expo continues to grow,” he shared.
Supporting Young Talent
Cinematica Expo is not just about showcasing technology—it’s also a platform for nurturing young talent. The event features seminars and workshops led by industry experts, including celebrated film personalities like Sudeep Chatterjee, Satyamshu Singh, and Indraganti Mohana Krishna. These sessions provide aspiring filmmakers with valuable insights and guidance for their careers.
The expo has also attracted strong support from prominent Telugu film personalities such as Ram Gopal Varma and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Additionally, the Telangana government has backed the event, further highlighting its importance.
Looking Ahead
Vinda remains committed to fostering the growth of the Indian film industry. “We are preparing to organize many more programs to support young talent and contribute to the industry’s development,” he said.
As Cinematica Expo continues to expand, it is poised to play a vital role in shaping the future of Indian cinema. By bridging the gap between global advancements and local talent, the event is solidifying Hyderabad’s reputation as a global center for filmmaking and innovation.
