    South Central Railway (SCR) has received three Energy Efficient Unit Awards from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the 24th National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management-2023. These awards were given for the best energy management practices in 2023. The awards were presented to representatives of SCR’s administrative units by the Chief Advisor to the Government of Telangana during an awards function at HICC in Hyderabad.

    The awards presented include Lekha Bhavan (SCR Accounts Building) at Secunderabad, which was awarded as an Excellent Energy Efficient Unit in the building sector. Rail Nilayam (SCR Headquarters Building) at Secunderabad and Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI) at Moulali were recognized as Energy Efficient units in the building sector.

    SCR has been consistently receiving Energy Conservation Awards at both the national and state levels for many years. This year, the ZRTI building has received recognition as an Energy Efficient unit for the first time. SCR has implemented various energy conservation measures, such as using energy-efficient LED lighting and inverter-type star-rated and precision AC units.
