Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Chilkur Balaji Temple’s chief priest, CS Rangarajan, visited the Muthyalamma temple with some of his followers. During the visit, he recited the Aditya Hrudayam and Narasimha Stotras prayers, seeking divine strength to deal with such unfortunate events.

The chief priest condemned the recent attack on the Muthyalamma Temple, calling it both unfortunate and deeply unsettling. He expressed his concern over the violence against the sacred site.

CS Rangarajan suggested that there should be changes to the law, specifically to IPC Section 295, which deals with offenses related to religious places. He proposed that the law should be made stricter, including punishments like the death penalty or life imprisonment for crimes against religious sites. He pointed out that a similar amendment was made in Punjab, following disrespect to the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. He said that such changes in the law could help prevent future incidents.
