    Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has instructed officials to make thorough preparations for the Independence Day celebrations at Golkonda Fort on August 15.

    Santhi Kumari held a meeting on Friday to discuss the Independence Day Celebrations. She mentioned that the event will take place at Golconda Fort, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will first pay tribute to martyrs at the War Memorial at Parade Grounds.

    The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for coordination among officials and asked them to follow a checklist distributed during the meeting.

    The police department was tasked with creating a traffic route map, including designated drop-off and pick-up points, parking areas, and signage at key locations.

    The Roads and Buildings department was asked to set up the main stage to ensure clear visibility of the Chief Minister during his speech. Important buildings like the Assembly, Council, High Court, Raj Bhavan, and Secretariat should be illuminated.

    The Municipal Administration department was directed to clean the area, level the ground, maintain sanitary conditions, and provide temporary toilets and enough sweepers.

    Health officials were instructed to arrange fully equipped ambulances and nursing assistants for the event. The DG Fire Services was told to station fire-fighting equipment, and the CMD of TGSPDCL was asked to ensure there is no interruption in power supply.

    The cultural department will bring around one thousand artists in costumes to perform during the event.

    Rehearsals will start on August 10, with full dress rehearsals scheduled for August 13.

    The meeting was attended by DGP Jitender, GAD Secretary Raghunandan Rao, and senior officials from various departments including police, energy, municipal administration, and R&B.
