Hanamkonda: In a significant move to promote Telangana’s cultural heritage, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will be inaugurating the Kaloji Kalakshetram at Balasamudram on November 19. The cultural center is dedicated to the memory of Kaloji Narayana Rao, a famous poet from Telangana. It has been built on 4.25 acres and cost Rs 95 crore to complete. The Kalakshetram is expected to become a major hub for cultural events and art exhibitions.
The project was developed by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation and overseen by the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority. The building covers a large area of 1.77 lakh square feet. One of its main attractions is a modern auditorium that can seat 1,127 people. The auditorium is equipped with advanced sound and visual technology, making it perfect for hosting cultural programs, plays, and art festivals.
The Kalakshetram also has several special features. It has a grand entrance lobby, beautiful landscaped gardens, streetlights, and a decorative fountain to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. In front of the building, there is a statue of Kaloji Narayana Rao, honoring his significant contributions to Telugu literature and culture.
Inside, the Kalakshetram includes four smaller halls for various events and an air-conditioned art gallery. The gallery displays photographs, memorabilia, and awards related to Kaloji, offering visitors a deeper understanding of his life and work.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister will unveil the statue of Kaloji and officially open the cultural center. A short film about Kaloji’s life and the development of the Kalakshetram will also be shown as part of the event.
The Kalakshetram is expected to become a key location for cultural activities in Telangana. It will provide a platform for local talents to showcase their work. The opening of this center marks an important step in the state’s cultural journey and is expected to further enhance Telangana’s rich artistic and cultural traditions.
All preparations for the grand inauguration have been completed by the district administration. The event is seen as an important milestone in preserving and enriching Telangana’s cultural legacy.
