In Hyderabad, the three-time Chevella MLA Kale Yadaiah joined the Congress party, leaving the BRS party. This happened in New Delhi in the presence of AICC leader Deepa Dash Munshi. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy welcomed Yadaiah into the Congress party by offering him a party scarf.

Yadaiah is the fifth MLA from the BRS party to switch to Congress. Other MLAs who left BRS for Congress include Danam Nagender, T Venkat Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. This brings down BRS’s strength in the Assembly from 39 to 33.
