    The 2-day Deccan Club 1st Telangana State elite Chess Championship 2023 started in Hyderabad. The event was inaugurated by DGP Anjani Kumar and has around 90 players, including State-level champions, participating. Ediga Anjaneya Goud, Chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana State, praised the Deccan Club for their efforts in promoting sports. Anjani Kumar encouraged the players to bring glory to the country and excel in international chess tournaments. He also commended the Deccan Club and Telangana Chess Association for their contributions to sports in the state. Anil Kumar, president of the Deccan Club, stated that the club has a long history of promoting sports and will continue to do so.
