Senior BJP leader and former minister Chandrashekar has resigned from the saffron party. He sent his resignation letter to party State president Kishan Reddy. Chandrashekar alleged that there is not enough support for the workers in the party. Sources close to him suggest that he will soon join the Congress.
Chandrashekar served as MLA from the Vikarabad constituency for five consecutive terms between 1985-2008. In the 2018 elections, he ran as an independent candidate but was unsuccessful. He then contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an MP from Peddapally on behalf of the Congress but was defeated.
Afterwards, Chandrashekar joined the BJP. However, he has been inactive in party activities for some time. Recently, MLA Eatala Rajender, the chairman of the party management committee, visited Chandrashekar’s house in an attempt to change his mind, but was unsuccessful. As a result, Chandrashekar decided to resign from the party.
