TIRUMALA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged for a reduction in VIP culture at Tirumala. He emphasized the need for simplicity and cutting down on unnecessary expenses.
The Chief Minister directed officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to ensure that there is no unnecessary disturbance when prominent figures visit the temple. He also stressed that all devotees, whether from India or abroad, should be treated with respect and not be subjected to any rude behavior.
During the ongoing Brahmotsavam celebrations, Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife, visited Tirumala. He held a review meeting with TTD officials at the Padmavati Guest House on Saturday morning. In the meeting, the Chief Minister made several recommendations to preserve the sanctity of Tirumala, urging that only the chants of “Govinda” should echo across the hills, and that peace should be maintained at all times.
Naidu further instructed that TTD services should be shaped based on the feedback and suggestions from devotees. He pointed out the need to improve the quality of the popular Tirumala laddus and the annaprasadam (free meals). He once again stressed reducing VIP culture, discouraging extravagance, and ensuring respect for all devotees, regardless of their status. He also reminded TTD officials to strictly avoid any rude behavior.
Following the Chief Minister’s visit, the TTD made a significant decision by cancelling the reverse tendering policy that had been in place for the past five years. TTD Executive Officer Shyamala Rao issued the official orders regarding this change.
