Amaravati Capital Works Resume
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has officially resumed work on the long-delayed construction of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) office in Amaravati. The inauguration took place in Uddandarayunipalem, located in Thullur Mandal, on Saturday.
The CRDA office project was first started in 2017 with a budget of Rs 160 crore. However, construction was stopped in 2019 when the YCP government came to power.
During the event, Naidu stressed the importance of Amaravati as the state’s capital. He reminded everyone that 54,000 acres of land were voluntarily donated by local farmers for the project. Naidu praised the farmers, women, and residents who supported the Amaravati movement for five years, despite efforts to move the capital elsewhere. He also criticized the YCP government for delaying Amaravati’s development.
Naidu reaffirmed his election promise that Amaravati will remain the capital without any changes. He also shared plans for the state, announcing that Visakhapatnam will serve as the financial hub, while Kurnool will have a High Court bench and new industries. Additionally, Naidu revealed plans to build a 180-kilometre ring road around Amaravati and provide all the necessary infrastructure.
The event was well-attended, with Minister Narayana, several MLAs, government officials, and many local residents present.
