    Drug racket uncovered; main suspect arrested

    The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers recently conducted raids at Chaitanyapuri Police Station in Hyderabad. During the raid, two court constables and court officials were caught red-handed. One of the constables had demanded money from a person who was accused of a crime. The victim reported the incident to ACB officials, stating that he was being harassed for money. As a result, the officers conducted searches at Chaitanyapuri Police Station at midnight.

    In another incident, the SWOT police raided a gas re-filling center in Hydershakot, Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district. They detained those who were illegally refilling gas. The illegal re-filling was being done in small cylinders from domestic cylinders. A total of 100 domestic cylinders were seized and handed over to Narsinghi police.

    Furthermore, on Wednesday afternoon, ACB officials caught a revenue inspector named P Venkat Rao accepting a bribe at Sadashivpet municipality in Sangareddy district. The complainant, Shiva Kumar, had approached the ACB after the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 for processing the application for house allocation. The ACB officials then sent Shiva Kumar and caught officer P Venkat Rao accepting the bribe with the help of another officer named Venu Gopal Sharma.

    The bribe amount of Rs 8,000 was recovered during the investigation. Both the accused officers, P Venkat Rao and Venu Gopal Sharma, have been arrested and produced before the 1st Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court in Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.
