    Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Highlights Role of CFSL in Solving Crimes

    Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, emphasized the importance of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in solving major crimes across India. He stated that CFSL plays a crucial role in investigating cases such as murder, rape, theft, narcotics, cybercrime, and money laundering. According to the minister, the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has upgraded CFSL to meet international standards, enhancing its ability to tackle crimes effectively.

    On Thursday, Bandi Sanjay visited the CFSL, National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL), and Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) in Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. He was accompanied by former MLA NVSS Prabhakar. The minister spent over two hours inspecting various departments and discussing their operations with officials. He expressed pride that Hyderabad hosts these prestigious institutions, which serve the forensic needs of South India. Officials shared that CFSL handles thousands of cases from multiple states and provides critical support for criminal investigations.

    During his visit, Bandi Sanjay was welcomed by CFSL National Director S.K. Jain and Hyderabad in-charge Rajiv Giroti. The minister toured divisions such as Digital Forensics, Oxygen Forensics, DNA and Biology, Narcotics Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, and Documentation. He asked officials about the methods used to solve complex cases, future plans, and proposals for central government assistance. As part of his visit, the minister also participated in a tree-planting program on the CFSL campus.

    Later, the minister inspected NFSL and CDTI, where he attended a detailed briefing by department officials. A PowerPoint presentation highlighted the activities and contributions of these institutions. He learned that CDTI has provided specialized training to 39,167 police officers, public prosecutors, and lawyers. Additionally, CDTI has conducted programs to raise awareness about cybercrimes among students. Bandi Sanjay praised the efforts of the CDTI team for their valuable contributions to law enforcement and public safety.
