The Union Railway Ministry has decided to upgrade the Kazipet wagon overhauling unit into a wagon manufacturing unit. This decision was made a week before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Warangal, where he will lay the foundation stone for the overhauling unit.
The state BJP leaders have been pressuring the party leadership and the Union Government to approve a wagon manufacturing unit at Kazipet. The BRS party and the Congress party have also criticized the BJP-led NDA government for not keeping its promise made during the creation of the new state. Both parties were planning to make this a major campaign issue.
In preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit to Warangal on Sunday, BJP state leaders, including state president Bandi Sanjay, Jitender Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and others, will hold a meeting to review the arrangements.
