On Sunday, the Minister toured the flood-affected areas of Munneru Vagu, accompanied by State Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender, and Chevella MP Konda Visweshwar Reddy. They visited the affected communities to assess the damage.

Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy emphasized that this is not a time for politics. He said both the Central and State governments are committed to helping the people impacted by the floods. He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called Telangana’s Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, to discuss the situation and recommended using Rs 1,345 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to help those affected.

During his visit, Kishan Reddy met with the flood-hit people of Rakasi Thanda in Tirumalayapalem mandal of Paleru constituency. Many villagers in the area lost their homes, and their crops were destroyed. The Minister assured the people that both the central and state governments would work together to relocate the village to a safer location with everyone’s agreement.

He added that farmers whose lands were covered in sand due to the floods would receive financial assistance to clear the debris and resume farming. He assured the governments would take responsibility for helping the affected communities recover.

Earlier, Kishan Reddy distributed essential goods to around 10,000 flood-affected people in Khammam’s urban areas. He also visited Danchalapuram, where he inspected houses damaged by the floods and promised support to help the residents rebuild their lives.

The Minister noted that the floods in Khammam were unprecedented, and a large number of people had been left homeless. He promised that the government would continue to support them in these difficult times.
