The District Welfare Officer for Women, Children, Disabled, and Elderly in Jogulamba Gadwal, Sudha Rani, announced that various programs will be held as part of World Breastfeeding Week 2024. These programs aim to promote breastfeeding to help create a healthy society.

Following the District Collector’s orders, awareness programs will be organized at district, mandal, and village levels. Both government and private maternity hospitals will be asked to teach new mothers about the importance of breastfeeding. The goal is to address gaps in support for breastfeeding, emphasizing that breast milk is vital for a child’s health. It helps in both mental and physical development by providing essential nutrients and immunity.
