Rangareddy: The Collector of Rangareddy district, K Shashanka, has urged candidates of all political parties to follow Election Commission regulations when filing nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Chevella. The nomination process will start on April 18 at the Mandal Revenue Office in Rajendra Nagar.
During a meeting with political party leaders at the Mandal Revenue Office, the collector explained that candidates can get Form-2A for free from the Returning Officer at the MRO office. Nominations will be accepted from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on working days from April 18 to April 25, with scrutiny starting on April 26 and withdrawal allowed until April 29.
Candidates are advised to open a new bank account for election expenses and keep proper records. They can spend up to Rs 95 lakh on their campaign, with expenses calculated based on bank transactions. Details of any pending criminal cases must be included in the nomination form.
When filing nominations, candidates or their representatives must take a pledge in front of the Returning Officer as prescribed by the EC. All aspects of the nomination form should be carefully considered before submission.
The District Election Officer also advised candidates to seek permission for campaign activities like meetings, rallies, and use of campaign materials. Permission for helicopter use should be requested through the Suvidha portal at least 48 hours in advance. Revenue officials, Election Commission staff, and political party representatives attended the meeting.
