The Cabinet Sub-Committee on ‘PrajaPalana’ in Hyderabad has made a decision to create an action plan for verifying over one crore applications received from citizens. This verification process is being done to ensure that every deserving person receives the benefits of the ‘five guarantees’ provided by the government. The sub-committee chairman, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, held a meeting with officials to discuss the implementation of these guarantees and instructed them to prioritize the completion of the data entry process within the given time frame. They were also asked to formulate a plan for physical verification in the next meeting and to conduct field verification exercises in their respective departments.

Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of identifying eligible beneficiaries without any overlap or confusion, so that only genuine individuals receive the benefits. He clarified that no bank details or OTPs were requested from beneficiaries during the ‘PrajaPalana’ process. He also stated that phone numbers will not be asked for during the data entry process. The minister suspected that certain groups with vested interests are spreading rumors and attempting to misguide people regarding the finalization of beneficiaries.

During the meeting, committee members discussed the implementation details of the five guarantees and how to integrate the data submitted by applicants with existing departmental data. They also discussed timelines for completing data entry and conducting data analytics to avoid duplication. It was decided that field verification would be carried out to fill any gaps in the data from applications.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretaries Navin Mittal, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, SAM Rizvi, Dana Kishore, Jitender, Commissioner of Civil Supplies D S Chowhan, and Secretary R&B Srinivas Raju.
