Hyderabad: The state Cabinet will meet on Thursday to discuss key decisions about creating a new city called the “Fourth City” in Mucherla, located in southern Greater Hyderabad. The plan is to promote industry, tourism, medical infrastructure, and residential colonies. They will also talk about the Musi Riverfront Development Project and new ration cards.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will share his vision for the new city and seek suggestions from the Cabinet. Officials mentioned that they will discuss ways to get funding from international institutions like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. This meeting is important because it happens just before Revanth’s visit to the US on Friday.

The Telangana government plans to develop Mucherla into the Fourth City, following Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad. The new city will include facilities for artificial intelligence, health tourism, sports, and more.

During his trip to America and South Korea, Revanth Reddy aims to meet financial agencies and big investors. He will invite them to set up manufacturing and IT service centers in Hyderabad. The establishment of a Skill University in Hyderabad will also be discussed in the Cabinet meeting.

The Cabinet is expected to approve the formation of a Cabinet Sub Committee to recommend guidelines for issuing new white ration cards. Revanth will announce the names of the committee members after his return from the US. The sub-committee will be asked to submit its report within a stipulated time.

Additionally, the meeting will cover important bills to amend the RoR Act (Record of Rights), the ratification of the bill for the Skill University, and the increase of BC reservations in Local Body elections. They will also discuss amendments to the Panchayat Raj and Municipalities, which will be introduced in the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.
