Hyderabad: The cabinet subcommittee on Government Order (GO) 317 presented its report to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday. The report focuses on the allocation of jobs in the State.
The subcommittee consisted of Ministers D Sridhar Babu, chairman C Damodar Rajanarsimha, and Ponnam Prabhakar. Over the past three months, they held discussions with affected employees, as well as representatives from various teachers’ and employee unions. They also collected grievances and suggestions from government employees through emails.
The subcommittee had its final meeting on the issue on October 18. In recent weeks, those affected by GO 317 have increased pressure on the government to address the problem. They reminded the Congress party of its election promise to resolve the issue.
Earlier this month, hundreds of employees held protests at Nampally. Protestors from different parts of the State raised slogans against GO 317, demanding that the Congress government keep its promise. More than a year ago, the Congress, then in Opposition, had pledged to scrap the order if they came to power. A group of employees also submitted their concerns to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud.
