Job Calendar Announcement in Hyderabad
The state Cabinet of Hyderabad decided on Thursday to unveil the job calendar in the Assembly on Friday for its approval. This announcement fulfills a promise made by the Congress during its election campaign.
The government has created the job calendar based on available vacancies and a specific timeline. The Finance wing will approve recruitment drives soon after the job calendar’s announcement.
Water Management and Allocation
The Cabinet also decided to lift 15 TMC of Godavari water from Mallanna Sagar and pump it into Shamirpet lake. From there, 10 TMC will be directed to Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar to meet Hyderabad’s drinking water needs. The remaining 5 TMC will be used for the Musi River Front Development Project to ensure a fresh water flow, promoting tourism and maintaining hygienic conditions. The government has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for the Musi project in the budget.
Merger and Appointments
Information and Public Relations Minister P Srinivasa Reddy briefed the media after the Cabinet meeting, stating that the Cabinet approved the merger of 40 villages with Greater Hyderabad.
The Cabinet also cleared the names of Prof M Kodandaram and journalist Amir Ali Khan for two MLC posts, forwarding them to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma for approval. Earlier, these names had been rejected, leading the government to seek intervention from the High Court.
Ration and Aarogyasri Cards
The Cabinet formed a Sub-Committee with ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, P Srinivas Reddy, and Damodar Raja Narasimha to finalize guidelines for issuing new white ration cards and Aarogyasri cards to eligible persons. The Sub-Committee will submit its report within a month. A debate on renaming Dharani as ‘Bhumata’ will also be taken up in the Assembly.
Proposals and Approvals
The Cabinet approved the revival of Nizam Sugar Company based on Sub-Committee recommendations. They also cleared Group 1 posts for cricketer Mohammed Siraj and boxer Nikhat Zareen, and a 600 square yard house plot for them and shooter Isha Singh in Hyderabad.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the appointment of the son of late Intelligence IG Rajiv Ratan as Municipal Commissioner and the son of late additional DGP Murali as Deputy Tahsildar.
Condolences and Disaster Relief
The Cabinet expressed deep condolences over the loss of lives and property damage in the Wayanad landslides. They decided to send relief materials and deploy disaster management teams to assist the Kerala government in rescue operations.
BC Reservation in Local Elections
The minister clarified that BC reservation in local body elections would be finalized after completing the BC caste survey and releasing voters’ lists by the Election Commission.
