    Series of Thefts in Karimnagar

Over the last 15 days, Karimnagar experienced a wave of burglaries that alarmed residents. Thieves targeted locked homes and temples, causing significant losses. One major incident occurred at the Hanuman Temple near Kothirampur Bus Stop, where Panchaloha idols were stolen. Another theft attempt at the Lakshminagar Hanuman Temple was thwarted by a vigilant watchman.

In a separate incident on September 23, burglars broke into a locked house in Satavahana Colony, Kattarampur. They made off with a television, 20 grams of gold, and 46 grams of silver ornaments.

    Breakthrough in Investigation

To address the rising number of thefts, Karimnagar police formed two special investigation teams. During routine vehicle checks in Gouthami Nagar, they apprehended Satyanarayana, who was found in possession of stolen items. Police recovered 16 grams of gold jewelry, 4 grams of gold rings, a Samsung LED TV, and 46 grams of silver ornaments.

    A Repeat Offender

Authorities revealed that Satyanarayana is a habitual offender with a criminal record spanning over 20 cases. He has served jail time multiple times but continued committing crimes after being released on bail. CI Koteshwar assured that strict measures are being implemented to prevent him from reoffending.

    Modus Operandi and Ongoing Investigations

According to the police, Satyanarayana primarily targeted locked homes for his burglaries. While he has been arrested, another suspect involved in temple thefts is still on the run. Officials suspect that smaller-time thieves might have been responsible for the temple burglaries.

    Police Advisory to Residents

To prevent further thefts, Karimnagar police have advised residents to inform their local police station if they plan to leave their homes unattended. The police emphasized that increased vigilance and public cooperation are crucial in reducing crimes like these.
