Speaking on the matter, Pallaiah expressed concerns about the growing exploitation of students by private schools in the district. He criticized these schools for charging high fees but failing to provide basic infrastructure and facilities.

    Lack of Basic Amenities

According to Pallaiah, many private schools in the district do not have essential facilities like drinking water, toilets, compound walls, and fire safety measures. These shortcomings compromise the safety and well-being of students.

    Unfit School Buses

He also pointed out that several schools operate buses that are not properly maintained, putting students’ lives at risk during transportation.

    Failure of Inspections

Pallaiah alleged that Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) are not conducting regular inspections to ensure schools meet safety and educational standards.

    Violation of Timings and Holidays

It was further claimed that some schools are violating regulations by holding classes even on holidays. This adds to the mental stress of students, who are left with little time to rest.

    Fee Exploitation and Teacher Overwork

Pallaiah criticized private schools for charging excessive fees from students while paying their teachers extremely low salaries. Teachers are reportedly overburdened with heavy workloads, leading to their own mental stress.

    Commercialization of Education

He accused private schools of treating education as a business, prioritizing profit over providing quality education and proper facilities for students.

    Harassment Over Fees

Another serious concern raised was the harassment of students whose parents fail to pay fees on time. Pallaiah alleged that young children are humiliated, made to stand outside classrooms, and their parents are pressured to clear pending payments.

    Call for Action

Given these allegations, Pallaiah urged the district collector to take immediate and strict action against the owner of Krishnaveni Private High School. He also demanded inspections of all private schools in the district to ensure they comply with educational regulations.

    Community Support

The complaint was supported by several individuals, including Madhav, Naresh, and Chakravarthy, who attended the meeting and called for government intervention to protect students from further exploitation and abuse.

    Awaiting the Administration’s Response

As of now, the district administration has not yet responded to the complaint. Parents, activists, and concerned citizens are awaiting action against the alleged violations in private schools across the Gadwal district.
