The Bharata Rashtra Samithi Party (BRS) is going to the Supreme Court to challenge the disqualification of MLAs who left their party to join Congress without the people’s approval. The party consulted legal experts and decided to seek justice from the highest court.
According to BRS, the Speaker must decide on disqualification petitions within three months, as per previous Supreme Court rulings. Paragraphs 30 and 33 of a Supreme Court judgment also state that the High Court should make a prompt decision.
A recent hearing in the High Court discussed the disqualification of Danam Nagender on the 27th of this month. BRS is planning to take their case to the Supreme Court against Danam Nagender and other MLAs who switched parties.
