    Hyderabad: The BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao selected party leader E Rakesh Reddy as the candidate for the council seat under the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates constituency on Friday.

    The Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates constituency became vacant when sitting member Palla Rajeshwar Reddy resigned after becoming an MLA in the recent Assembly elections. Rakesh Reddy joined the BRS after resigning from the BJP during the elections.

    Rakesh Reddy, a farmer’s son from Vangapahad in Hasanparthi, Warangal district, holds a Masters in Management Studies (MMS) and a Masters in Finance from BITS Pilani. He started his political career with the BJP in 2013 as BJYM leader and has initiated various innovative programs, including devotional ones.

    The Congress party announced Teenmar Mallanna as their candidate for the graduate elections, prompting them to search for a strong contender, ultimately choosing Rakesh Reddy.
