    Representatives of 44 registered trade unions from the unorganized sector and contract workers in different service segments have declared their support for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). These trade union leaders attended a meeting organized by the BRS KarmikaVibhagam, the trade union wing of the ruling party. They pledged their support to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to ensure his hat-trick win. Finance Minister T Harish Rao, who addressed the meeting, mentioned that the government has given a 30 percent pay hike to contract workers in various departments, bringing them on par with government staff. He also highlighted the measures implemented by the government to benefit contract workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and home guards over the past nine and a half years.

    Harish Rao assured further pay hikes for workers in different sectors and promised the creation of a transport board for workers in the automobile sector. He mentioned that the government has provided support to workers involved in implementing the mid-day meal scheme and has increased their remuneration. He called on workers to unite against the anti-worker and anti-employee policies of the central government. The BRS has also scrapped the quarterly tax, benefiting workers in the auto sector. Furthermore, Harish Rao stated that government employees in the state receive the highest salaries compared to Gujarat and Karnataka, and the remuneration of home guards has been increased. The government is committed to ensuring job security for all workers.
