Hyderabad: The BRS working president, KT Rama Rao, announced on Wednesday that the party would hold the Telangana Literary Festival annually. The event will take place from Deeksha Diwas on November 29 to Vijay Diwas on December 9.

KTR made this announcement during a book exhibition at Telangana Bhavan. The exhibition showcased books about Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, written by senior journalist Juluri Gowri Shankar. Speaking on the occasion, KTR revealed that the party plans to form a special committee to manage the literary festival. He emphasized the importance of creating more books about Telangana’s history to preserve and share its rich cultural heritage.

KTR also shared an anecdote about a former Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader, Shekar, who had gifted books on Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. BR Ambedkar. When KTR asked why Shekar chose those books, the DMK leader explained that he couldn’t find books on Telangana’s history and chose to donate books relevant to India’s broader historical figures instead. This, KTR said, highlights the urgent need for literature that reflects Telangana’s unique history and culture.
