Gadwal: The BRS party held a protest in front of the district collectorate in Gadwal. They were upset about a recent statement by Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, which suggested that the Rythu Bharosa (farmer support) scheme may not be available for the upcoming Kharif season. As part of the protest, the BRS party burned an effigy of the state government. The protest was led by former ZPTC member, Basu Shyamala Hanumanthu Naidu.
During the demonstration, Basu Shyamala expressed his anger over the government’s failure to deliver the Rythu Bandhu scheme during the Kharif season. He said this was a betrayal of the farming community and accused the government of ignoring the welfare of millions of farmers. He also mentioned that the government had been delaying payments with excuses, which raised suspicions among the farmers.
Basu Shyamala further criticized the Agriculture Minister’s statement. He demanded that the government immediately deposit the promised Rythu Bharosa funds into farmers’ accounts. He emphasized that the BRS party will continue fighting until farmers receive ₹15,000 per acre as part of the scheme.
Several party leaders and members participated in the protest, including Monesh, Sri Ramulu, former Sarpanch Parusha Ramudu, S. Ramu Naidu, Raju Naidu, Chintarevula Muni Maurya, Kolayi Bhaskar, Narasimhulu, Timmappa Goud, Krishna, Jaswanth, Sonu, Faraz, Raju, Gangadhar, Kamesh, and many others.
The protest is part of a larger, statewide movement called for by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). The party is demanding that the government restore support schemes for farmers and take responsibility for the agricultural sector.
