Former MLC Balasani Laxminarayana, a senior BRS party leader, has chosen to leave his party. Balasani had been unhappy with the party’s recent actions and was replaced as the incharge of the Bhadrachalam constituency. MLC Tata Madhusudan now holds that position.

Balasani used to support former Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and had previously worked with him in the TDP party. After Tummala joined the Congress party, Balasani stayed quiet within the BRS party.

On Sunday, Balasani officially resigned from the BRS party. He has told his followers that he plans to join the Congress party in the near future.
