Senior Leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah Criticizes Contradictory Statements on Investments

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah expressed concerns on Tuesday regarding contradictory statements made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu about investments in Davos. Speaking to reporters, Lakshmaiah highlighted the conflicting views within the state government.

According to Lakshmaiah, while the Chief Minister called the Davos investments a significant success, Sridhar Babu remarked that such investments can only be considered successful if they lead to increased employment opportunities. He noted that these differing opinions within Revanth Reddy’s cabinet raise questions about the narrative being presented.

Lakshmaiah went on to challenge the claims of the Chief Minister, stating that investments are not made based on a leader’s charisma but are the result of long-term policies. He credited the success of investments to the ten years of policies implemented under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Drawing comparisons, he emphasized that if Maharashtra secured Rs 18 lakh crore in investments, it was not solely due to Devendra Fadnavis’ leadership but due to sustained efforts over time.

The senior leader also highlighted the progress made under KCR’s rule, pointing out that office space in Hyderabad expanded to seven lakh square feet and IT jobs grew from three lakh in 2014 to nine lakh. He credited these achievements to KCR’s policies, which he claimed contributed significantly to Telangana’s advancements in IT and industrial sectors.

Lakshmaiah accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of distorting facts and taking undue credit for ongoing developments. “The seeds planted during KCR’s tenure are now bearing fruit. How can Revanth claim this progress as his own greatness?” he questioned.
