The BRS (Bharatiya Rythu Samithi) has almost finalized tickets for the remaining constituencies. The announcement of the candidates will be made after the election schedule is announced by the ECI (Election Commission of India). The BRS chief has already confirmed the tickets and informed party leaders about the candidates. Marri Rajashekar Reddy, the son-in-law of Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, has been confirmed for the Malkajgiri seat.
There was a need for a change in the party’s candidate due to the resignation of MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, who joined the Congress. The BRS, which had previously won the seat in 2014 and 2018, is aiming for a hat-trick with a financially strong candidate.
Rajashekar Reddy had previously contested in the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha election but lost to A Revanth Reddy of the Congress party. The party has decided to replace MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy with Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy for the Assembly seat. Pochampally Srinivas Reddy’s name was also considered, but the RBS chief wanted to give an opportunity to Rajeshwar Reddy. Muthireddy has been asked to support Rajeshwar Reddy by the party leadership.
The BRS chief has also confirmed Women’s Commission chairperson Sunita Lakshma Reddy for the Narsapur ticket. Ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao have met with MLA Madan Reddy and informed him about the decision. Madan Reddy has been asked to work for Sunitha Reddy’s victory and convey the message to his followers. He has also been assured of a respectable post after the elections.
Ch Anand Goud may be chosen by the party for the Nampally constituency, as he was the candidate in the last election. The BRS has also discussed the ticket with the friendly party MIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen).
However, there is still uncertainty regarding the Goshamahal constituency. There are multiple contenders for the seat, and the party leadership has not made a decision yet. There is speculation that Vikram Goud, son of former minister Mukesh Goud, may switch loyalties if he is denied a ticket by the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). It is also unclear whether the BJP will continue with MLA T Raja Singh or make changes due to his suspension.
