Zaheerabad BRS MP BB Patil faced a setback when the Supreme Court rejected his request to overturn the High Court’s decision to proceed with his disqualification case. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate Madan Mohan Rao filed a petition against the MP for allegedly violating election rules. The High Court accepted the petition and initiated regular hearings on Patil’s disqualification. In response, Patil approached the Supreme Court, but on Tuesday, the Apex Court dismissed his petition, stating that it lacked merit.
