BRS MLAs become anxious as KCR's winning horses scan emerges

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is analyzing the party candidates for each constituency after completing the monsoon session of the Assembly, which is also the last session before the Assembly elections. He is reviewing survey reports to understand the people’s opinions about the current MLAs and their chances of winning. This analysis will last for about a week before finalizing the list of candidates for all 119 seats. The BRS aims to announce the list by the end of August.

According to the survey reports, there is an anti-incumbency factor in around 50 Assembly seats. Many of the sitting MLAs in these constituencies have lost touch with the people. The BRS currently has 101 members in the Assembly. KCR is also evaluating the strength and popularity of opposition candidates in each constituency to plan strategies accordingly.

Another challenge that KCR needs to address is growing group politics within the party. There are constituencies where party MLAs are facing corruption charges and controversies like harassment of women and neglecting certain communities’ welfare.

While this analysis by the Chief Minister is causing concern for MLAs with a poor performance, it is speculated that KCR may not replace more than 20 sitting MLAs to avoid internal conflicts and the risk of rebel candidates.

BRS leaders believe that an effective strategy will secure over 100 seats for the party. They claim that while the BJP has almost withdrawn from the race, the Congress is plagued with internal conflicts and poses no challenge to the BRS.
