Sampath Kumar Promises Farmers Water for Irrigation
Former MLA Sampath Kumar visited the Sunkesula Barrage and Tumilla Lift Irrigation Scheme on Saturday to address farmers’ concerns about water for irrigation. Speaking at the Sunkesula Barrage in Rajoli Mandal, he assured farmers that water would be released for the irrigation needs of RDS (Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme) ayacut farmers within two days.
During his visit, Sampath Kumar inspected the shutters of the KC Canal along with local farmers. He suggested that a slight reduction in the canal’s elevation would help improve water supply through the Tumilla Lift Irrigation Project. The Congress leader emphasized that under his party’s leadership, irrigation issues would be resolved effectively.

Sampath Kumar shared that Congress is dedicated to ensuring the release of irrigation water and criticized other leaders for making hollow promises. He highlighted Congress’s efforts to coordinate with officials from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to find practical solutions.

During his address to the gathering, Sampath Kumar reflected on past electoral setbacks and urged the people of the Alampur constituency to come together ahead of the upcoming local elections. He encouraged unity among all sections of society, urging them to rise above caste and religious differences for the region’s development. “I admit any mistakes I may have made knowingly or unknowingly. But now, let us all unite to end corrupt and divisive politics in our region. Together, we can achieve the development we deserve,” he said.
