BRS Leaders File Complaint Against CM Revanth Reddy for Remarks on KCR
Hyderabad: The leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have filed a complaint against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks about their party leader, K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Led by Medchal Malkajgiri district BRS president Shambhipur Raju, party members visited the Petbasheerabad police station to submit their complaint. They alleged that Revanth Reddy made offensive comments while speaking at Ravindra Bharathi, which they believe were disrespectful and went beyond normal political discussions. They also argued that such remarks could lead to violence and hatred.
The Petbasheerabad police stated that they are reviewing the complaint and will take necessary action. Several BRS leaders, including MLA KP Vivekanand Goud and Marri Rajshekhar Reddy, were present at the police station.
In addition, MLC-elect D Sravan Kumar and others lodged a similar complaint at the Filmnagar police station. Sravan Kumar claimed that Revanth Reddy’s use of the word “mortuary” suggested a threat to KCR’s life. He described the statement as not only a criminal threat but also a deliberate attempt to create unrest and fear among the public.
Sravan Kumar further questioned whether a chief minister, who holds a constitutional position, should be allowed to make such statements against a senior political leader. He argued that such remarks could indicate a government conspiracy.
The BRS leaders demanded that a case be filed against Revanth Reddy under relevant legal sections. They also called for an investigation into the alleged conspiracy behind his statements, an increase in KCR’s security, and measures to prevent any potential government-backed threats.
