BRS Leader Criticizes Congress Government Over Irrigation Issues

Basu Hanumanthu Naidu, a leader from the BRS Party, has strongly criticized the Congress government for failing to supply irrigation water to farmers. Due to this, crops in several villages under the Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme’s 104 Package are drying up.

On Friday, Naidu visited the villages of Kondapuram, Guvvaladinne, Venkatapuram, Eerlabanda, Ganganpalli, and Irkichendu in Keti Doddi Mandal. He inspected fields where crops were withering because there was no irrigation water from the Ryalampadu Reservoir.

    Concerns Over Government Inaction

Naidu was accompanied by D.E. Ram Kishore and local farmers from the tail-end areas of the irrigation system. He expressed deep concern over the government’s failure to act. Using wireless communication, he spoke to S.E. Rahimuddin and urged him to release water under the 104 Package immediately to save the last-stage crops.

During his visit, Naidu questioned why the Congress government remained silent while hundreds of acres of farmland were drying up. He criticized the administration for ignoring repeated requests from farmers and failing to respond to their concerns. He demanded urgent action to release irrigation water and prevent further crop loss.

    Warning of Protests

Naidu warned that if the Congress government did not release water to the canals within two days, the BRS Party would organize large-scale protests. He accused the government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, of mismanagement. He claimed that while irrigation water was disappearing, government funds were being sent to Delhi, and job recruitments had come to a halt.

He also alleged that CM Revanth Reddy was failing to govern effectively and was not fulfilling his promises. Instead of addressing important issues, he accused the CM of making baseless allegations against KCR and the BRS Party.

    Claims of Farmer Losses

Naidu further claimed that since CM Revanth Reddy took office, around 450 farmers had suffered losses due to government negligence. He insisted that the Congress government had failed to solve critical irrigation problems, leaving farmers in distress.

Support from Party Leaders and Farmers

Several BRS party leaders and activists accompanied Naidu during his visit. Among them were Monesh, Noor Pasha, D. Shekhar Naidu, Venkatesh Naidu, S. Ramu Naidu, and many other party workers and farmers. Their presence highlighted the growing concern over irrigation issues.

    Demand for Immediate Action

The BRS leaders have called for the government to release water immediately to the tail-end areas of the 104 Package under the Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme. They warned that if no action was taken, the BRS Party would stage massive protests in support of the farmers.

This rising frustration among farmers and political leaders has increased pressure on the Revanth Reddy government to address irrigation problems and prevent further agricultural damage in Jogulamba Gadwal District.
