Hyderabad: The BRS party has embraced the BJP’s slogan, “Batoge to Katoge,” to caution the people of Telangana about the dangers of division. On Tuesday, KT Rama Rao (KTR), the BRS working president, warned that if the people of Telangana become divided, it would harm the state’s interests.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Deeksha Diwas programme on November 29, KTR referred to the slogan used during the recent Maharashtra elections. He emphasized its relevance to Telangana, saying, “Telangana wale bhi batenge toh katenge.” He urged unity among the people, adding that the slogan aligns with the party’s belief, as reflected in their own saying, “Mosapote Gosapotam,” coined by BRS chief KCR.
The slogan “Batoge to Katoge” gained attention when the BJP used it extensively in its Maharashtra election campaign. While critics accused the BJP of trying to polarize voters, the party claimed it was promoting unity. KTR used the slogan as a warning to Telangana citizens about the consequences of internal divisions.
During the meeting, KTR also accused the Congress and BJP of working together in Telangana. He claimed both national parties supported each other in the Lok Sabha elections, which resulted in each party winning eight seats. Responding to allegations that the BRS is a “B-Team” of the BJP, KTR dismissed the claims, saying, “If we had colluded with the BJP, Kavitha would not have been in jail.”
The BRS has planned a rally on Deeksha Diwas, November 29, from Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital to Telangana Bhavan. Party leaders have been instructed to mobilize 2,000 supporters per constituency, including 300 participants from the Old City area.
