The BRS party in Hyderabad is demanding action against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for spreading misinformation and distorting facts, which they believe is unethical and a breach of trust with the public. They also filed a complaint regarding an illegal case against party leader M Krishank.
A delegation of BRS leaders met with the Chief Electoral Officer to lodge their complaint against the CM, accusing him of distorting facts about the closure of hostels at Osmania University. They claim the Congress party violated the model code of conduct by spreading false information and forging signatures to influence voters.
The Congress party allegedly created a fake notice from May 12, 2023, supposedly issued by OU authorities during the previous BRS government, in an attempt to blame the BRS for the closure of hostels due to water and electricity shortages. The BRS leaders believe this was done to divert attention from the current government’s failure to address these issues.
According to the BRS leaders, the Congress party’s fabricated notice claimed that the closure of hostels was due to water and electricity shortages, similar to a situation portrayed in an original BRS government notice. They accuse Revanth Reddy of spreading false information to cover up their shortcomings. Party leaders including MLAs KP Vivekanand and legal cell head S Bharat were present during these allegations.
