BRS Leaders Criticize Congress Government for Anti-People Policies
In Hyderabad on Tuesday, BRS leaders strongly criticized the Congress government, calling it an anti-people administration. They took issue with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team conducting ‘Grama Sabhas’ (village meetings) under police protection, rather than addressing the people’s concerns directly.
The BRS leaders accused the Chief Minister of being absent from the State, pointing out that he was busy traveling abroad while ministers were occupied in neighboring states. Senior leader T Harish Rao questioned who would look after the people in such a situation. He criticized the Congress government, stating, “It is a shame that in Indiramma’s rule, ‘Grama Sabhas’ have to be conducted under police protection. These meetings are being held just for show.”
Harish Rao also claimed that the Congress government’s performance over the past year has been a failure. He alleged that people across the State were protesting against the government. “The sins of Congress leaders have become a curse for officials,” he said, adding that the Grama Sabhas and the promises made by the government were fraudulent.
The BRS leader went on to list specific failures of the Congress administration. He alleged that the implementation of six guarantees, loan waivers, crop bonuses, farmer assurances, ration card issuance, and the selection of Indiramma housing beneficiaries were all fraudulent. He called these initiatives a betrayal of public trust.
Legislator V Prashanth Reddy also joined the criticism, accusing Congress leaders of selecting party activists as beneficiaries for various government schemes. He noted that this practice had angered people, as evident from opposition in the Grama Sabhas. “The public’s dissatisfaction clearly shows how frustrated they are with the government,” he remarked.
The BRS leaders urged the Congress government to focus on addressing people’s concerns rather than pursuing superficial measures.
